CRITICAL THINKING RESOURCES
FROM THE SKEPDAD BLOG

So you're looking for some information on skepticism, eh? How about something science-y? Or perhaps just some idle reading. You've come to the right place.

RESURCH+ORG is my epic collection of links, references, insights, and inspirations that I have compiled while writing The Skepdad Blog. Many of these are sites I read, books I reference, documents I consult, or information I find otherwise useful and interesting. I've put it here specifically to be a central hub of information (hopefully useful for others) for all things skeptical, science, secular, parenting, educational, or otherwise tangential to that. Many more links have been suggested by helpful readers. You should know that it continues to grown and is accepting suggestions and recommendations. Since May, 2009, I've been slowly and painstakingly verifying, moving, and categorizing my own complete collection of links (from number couple of sources -- often just scribble in notebooks) into this new system. And while that process threatens to last into perpetuity -- I'm always looking for great information after all -- most of the best NEW stuff here comes from user contributions.

Since opening the site to the public, there has been some great feedback and input, as well as suggestions for links I'd yet to add. If you have more suggestions, please feel free to send them along.

To be honest, there is a real mix of information in this category. And not only in terms of topics. The perspectives vary from skeptical to believer. I'll leave it to users to use their critical thinking skills to sort out which is which. I think there is definite worth -- regardless of your own perspective -- to have information from both sides of the debate.

Got something to say? I run a little web development company in my spare hours, if for no other reason that I like to make sure folks with something important to say have a way to get it out for others to read. Below I've listed some of the tools and services I use and rely on. Don't think of it as an endorsement. I just use them because after fifteen years online they happen to be services I either (a) like or (b) have become too lazy to switch away from. Hopefully they are helpful for you.

    The Skepdad Blog

    ...since August 2007!

When you're done here, remember to wander over to the blog and have your say. THE SKEPDAD BLOG is a place for rational, science-minded fathers to express their thoughts, opinions, and ideas about bringing up kids to be critical thinking adults in a world filled with superstition, mysticism, and pseudoscience.

    The Book List

I think a well-rounded, thoughtful, and creative mind is the result of a broad perspective. I think there is lots to learn from many varying sources of information, particularly books. And I don't think those books need necessarily be purely science texts.

Myself, I enjoy a wide variety of authors, genres, and styles. I thought it might be helpful to share some of those below, in particular those that don't fit in any of the categories to the left.
